The purpose of this blog is to get students thinking about art and art related topics. This blog is designed so students can have discussions about what we are learning about in class, to ask questions that may arise and to discuss art in the real world. Teachers and students may participate in blogs in a professional and appropriate manner. Links, video and pictures may also be shared with approval. Students will be required to responding to 2 blogs per week for participation points.

Controversial Art---Michael D'Antuono
Above is a piece of art titled "The Truth" by Michael D'Antuono. It has a politically and religiously charged message that some feel is offensive. Artists often use art to make a statement about an issue or raise questions. Do you feel that this piece of art is appropriate or is it offensive? Also comment on where, if at all, this artwork should be allowed to be displayed.
The web page below has a video of the artist explaining this painting and others. You may want to check it out to get a full understanding of the artist's intent.
